Grade 7 MathTutoring: Morrisville, Cary, and Apex & Online Options

This course focuses on the application of proportional relationships, operations with rational numbers, linear equations, geometric constructions, and drawing inferences from a data set.

What you'll learn

Unit 1 - Learn to compute unit rates, apply ratios in everyday situation word problems, compute the ratio of proportionality, and solve multi-step problems with ratios.

Unit 2 - Get introduced to the applications of percentages in the real world, including simple and compound interest, taxes, tips, fees, percent increase and decreases, and percentage error.

Unit 3 - Develop fluency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations with positive and negative numbers.

Unit 4 - Expand knowledge on operations with rational numbers, and develop fluency in operations with negative and positive rational numbers.

Unit 5 - Learn to rewrite expressions and easily switch between fractions and decimals, simplify expressions and like terms, and write expressions from a provided situation.

Unit 6 - Write equations from real-life situations, construct inequalities from word problems, and apply these concepts to solving geometric problems.

Unit 7 - Draw scale drawing using geometric constructions, learn to use a protractor, and understand the relationship between 2 dimensional and 3-dimensional figures.

Unit 8 - Develop fluency in the areas of 2-dimensional figures and the volumes of 3-dimensional figures, learn to calculate the circumference and area of a circle, and learn to calculate surface area.

Unit 9 - Learn the different types of angle and angle sums, identify triangles based on their angles, form equations to find the missing angle in a polygon, and strengthen skills of angles with parallel lines and a transversal.

Unit 10 - Apply skills acquired from solving proportions in solving problems about samples from a population, and draw inferences about various populations.

Unit 11 - Understand the concept of probability, learn to find the probability of an event occurring, and find the probabilities of compound events.
