This course focuses on developing an understanding of multiplication and division, fractions, rectangular arrays, area, and polygons.

What you'll learn

Unit 1 - Learn the meaning of multiplication as repeated addition and evaluate the products of whole numbers.

Unit 2 - Understand the relationship between multiplication and division, and evaluate the quotients of whole numbers.

Unit 3 - Write equations using the 4 operations, and derive equations from two-step word problems.

Unit 4 - Learn how to round numbers to nearest ten or hundred, and be comfortable with operations using numbers 0-1000.

Unit 5 - Understand the concept of a fraction, represent fractions using parts of a figure, write fractions on a number line, generate equivalent fractions, and compare fractions

Unit 6 - Understand the relationship between measurements and area, and solve for areas using multiplication concepts.

Unit 7 - Represent multiple data categories on a picture and bar graph, and represent data on line plots. Represent and Interpret Data.

Unit 8 - Solve for the area and perimeter of multiple 2-dimensional shapes using multiplication and measurement units.

Unit 9 - Learn to solve real-world word problems regarding the area and perimeter of polygons.
